It can be challenging to navigate traveling to a new city. After coordinating flights, hotels, the metro system, and the language barrier, most tourists are exhausted and in need of helpful advice. That is when LYNX steps in. Today, we will be talking about the three best places to visit on a scooter.
Thanks to the new opening, LYNX has expanded to two shops, enabling customers to pick up, drop off, and commute to places all around the city. From our first shop location, located at, Passeig de Sant Joan, 63, it is only eight minutes away by scooter from the popular street La Rambla. At our other location, located at Carrer del Comte d'Urgell, 16, 08011 Barcelona, the attraction is five minutes away.
There are so many sights to see when visitors arrive. First, there is the famous market filled with food. Stands of all sorts of themes line both sides through the tarp-covered market as people walk in. They are known to sell mouth-watering smoothies and the freshest fruits and vegetables. Not to mention the seafood restaurants that accompany the produce stands. Walking through the massive market the sounds of people chatting and the cracking of oysters create the perfect atmosphere for families, couples, and friends to share special moments.
Outside, one will also find human statues dressed and painted as famous characters. Red transformers tower over children as the squad past them admiring the strangers' detailed features. These statues are so realistic-looking that some are truly beautiful. They truly could not be humans with how long they can stand or stare for extended periods. The silent characters will be standing still one second, and the next their eyes are grinding in your direction, and suddenly they move their arm! Ahh. This form of entertainment is mesmerizing and impressive up close.
Just another quick 13 minutes ride away, La Sagada Familia is a beautiful church that rises far beyond the buildings and homes in Barcelona. Built-in 1882 and reopened in 2010, this marvel more than thousands of people each year come to visit. Riding through the streets on the way to this location, visitors will find charming neighborhoods and many diverse cuisines.
The Sagada Familia was designed by a talented artist and architect named Antoni Gaudí. This 560-foot masterpiece is easy to get to by scooter and welcomes all. Inside one will find intricate glass windows all shining with blues, reds, yellows, and more. Tourists can sit in the pews and gawk at the arches and tall beans. The lines to get inside the temple vary depending on the days of the week and times. I would suggest buying tickets online to save a few euros as well. Here is the link to book your tickets!
This last one is a bit further, but it is well worth the trip. Seventeen minutes along the shores of Barcelona visitors can travel to Bogatell beach. Compared to the Barceloneta beach, I would have to agree that Bogatell has clearer water and sand. Yes, the Barceloneta is the most popular beach, but locals even prefer Bogatell. Located on the other side of the port, this beach offers foreign natives to relax on the warm sand, pop open a beer or buy a mojito, and take in the beauty of Spain's Mediterranean Sea coast.
When people are commuting on a scooter they do not have to worry about getting on the wrong bus or metro train. People can fold their scooters up and carry them onto their towels on the beach. It is so easy with a scooter!
Now, the next time you leave the shops you have a few places to go check out! There are so many more locations to mention, but if you are only in the city for a day or so this list is perfect. I hope this list helps!
By: Elizabeth Salathe ]]>Due to previous problems related to electric scooters, citizens must now comply with Spain’s updated e-scooter national traffic authority (DGT) laws. Residents have been instructed to follow these new regulations to bring safety and structure to the streets.
Working at LYNX for over a month now, I can confidently say that when my co-workers and I notify visitors of these rules, they do not take us seriously. Witnessing that most locals still are not following the new policies, visitors are quick to respond, “But I have seen others doing that!” This reaction is understandable as it does seem unfair when compared, but people are taking quite a risk by following the careless herd.
If you would like to stray from hefty violation tickets and uncomfortable conversations with the police, I would advise that you keep reading.
As you stroll through the busy streets in Spain, specifically Barcelona, people will notice that scooters and bicycles are rarely seen on the sidewalks. The reason for this is because e-scooters are no longer allowed on pavements. So much so that when riders are caught, they are fined up to €500 by Spanish police. If you need to travel from one street to another and notice there is no bike or scooter lane, pedestrians can walk their vehicles on the sidewalk, just as long as they are not riding them on the scooters.
Electric scooters are also not allowed on intercity roads, highways, city tunnels, roundabouts, or bus lanes. For some, turning onto one of these other lanes seems harmless, but police have made it clear that bike and scooter lanes are the only locations riders can travel on.
Speeding from location to location on the scooters is a great activity with family and friends. However, only one person at a time is allowed on the e-scooter. That means you can not share a scooter with a friend or child. Many tourists come to Barcelona and disregard this rule. Just the other day, I checked out a group of guys from Turkey, and the next day one of them returned to the shop to explain how the police confiscated his scooter and wrote him up a 100€ ticket for sharing his scooter.
Yes, locals practice this act frequently, yet I would not try it as a tourist, especially with language barriers.
Similar to other vehicles, riders can not wear earphones while on a scooter. This fine will cost offenders up to 200€. This seems like a pretty logical rule, but others might try and wear one Airpod, for example, and still get fined.
As one may also predict, riders will face another 200€ fine for using their mobile phones while traveling by scooter. Just like driving a car, the country wants to decrease distracted riding.
Wearing a helmet has most recently been placed in effect. Again, locals tend not to abide by this order but will land offenders 200€ when stopped. They may look funny, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.
Lastly, riding under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is highly prohibited. The most common causes of fatal accidents involving e-scooters in Spain occur because of people who are under the influence. Making a considerable note of this pattern, Spain’s government and police try their best to scout out drunk or high riders. When these individuals get caught, officers fine them a 200€ fine, along with other suspensions.
Speed limits range all over the scale for vehicles in Spain, but for e-scooters, the maximum speed is 25 km/hr and a minimum of 6 km/hr on all roads. Most e-scooters can accelerate beyond the speed limit, and this is where most tourists find themselves in trouble. Simply because the scooter can reach 30 km does not mean that it is safe to speed.
There, too, is news circulating that all vehicles on two-way streets in the cities of Spain will drop from 50 to 30 km/hr. These speeds create a safer space for e-scooters to travel alongside.
When riding at night, rides need to wear reflective gear and display both front white guiding lights and rear red lights. This is the same as cyclists! Insurance and certification of ownership or rental agreement should also always be on hand.
I hope that these bring insight and warning to new e-scooter riders in Spain. Please reach out and call LYNX for any other questions or concerns you may have!
]]>This statement might be a shock to you for bike lovers, but e-scooters are the new best things. Do you want to know why? Let’s dive in! I have owned a manual bike and known someone with an e-scooter and can tell you from experience that e-scooters will take over the streets in the next few years.
A bike will cost someone between 300 and 1300 euros in Spain plus all the repairs that might arise. According to Statista, “Electric bicycles were the most expensive type of bicycle Spanish cyclists could purchase, at an average price of almost 2.2 thousand euros in 2019.” These prices continue to climb as the years go on and manufacturer companies demand more for their products. On the other hand, e-scooters range from 300 to 1200 euros and repairs are cheaper. If you think about it, why would you spend more on parts that are just as expensive? Think about that.
Everyone who has grown up riding bikes has unfortunately faced the pain of fixing something like the chain falling off the rain or a tire pop. Maybe the seat needs to be adjusted, the brakes rusted or the gears become locked up. Bikes are complex and require yearly, even monthly tune-ups due to the many moving parts. Scooters are relatively simple and easy to use; thus tend to desire fewer trips to the shop. I have also noticed that e-scooters are much more sturdy and therefore do not break or damage as quickly as bikes.
While some bike companies build smaller framed cycles, they still do not have the functional benefit of folding in half and being carried around as e-scooters do. Here at LYNX, our scooters can fold and be brought into any establishment, besides the metro, without any questions asked. It is common in Barcelona to carry scooters everywhere, but this is not possible when you have a bike. Also, with bike and scooter theft being a massive problem in Barcelona, being able to carry around a scooter decreases someone’s chance of theft. Not to mention, scooters are easier to store and take up less space than a bike would in any hotel, apartment, or house.
E-scooter handlebars are easier to use compared to bikes. The acceleration, brake, and speed modes are clearly found. While with bicycles, the gears can be hard to change and even harder to determine which one is the better choice to use while operating. The scooters are so manageable that even some children can figure it out without help. Having fewer parts also creates this easy-to-use luxury.
With a smaller handlebar, e-scooters maneuver faster and more quickly than bikes. This is helpful in the bustling city as traffic is rough at times and bike lanes, where scooters are supposed to be ridden, are tight. Additionally, most tourists have a hard time navigating the streets, so scooters offer faster redirection time.
A bike requires riders to use their legs to power the mode of transportation. Yet, e-scooters run on a battery, allowing riders to stand on the platform without any effort besides kicking off to start the acceleration. Since Barcelona is such a big city and the streets differ in elevation, scooters allow riders to relax and travel farther. The acceleration on a scooter is also much quicker than a bike, allowing riders to get to their destinations in less time than a bike would take.
All of these advantages e-scooters provide riders make it clear that they are the better choice in Barcelona. Renting scooters from LYNX explicitly offers more styles and accommodates people of all ages. I know there will be readers out there that still favor bikes over scooters, but all I ask is that you give the e-scooters a chance and see for yourself how impressive they are.

So, of course, the last few options are renting bikes, mopeds, and electric scooters. Tourists struggle to rent mopeds because they require an international license; thus, bikes and scooters are the best options for exploring the beautiful city.
Speaking from experience myself as a new native to the breathtaking city, I favor electric scooters over all other transportations. LYNX scooters rentals specifically present the most promising deals for your dollar, and I will tell you eight reasons why.
You have the option to reserve the electric scooters for more than one day. So for those who are staying for a week or longer, you can bring the scooter back to the hotel, Airbnb, or hostal and use it every day until you plan to leave. This option creates peace of mind for travelers to roam the city at their own pace and have a personal lightweight vehicle throughout their travel. Not to mention, they sell chargers for a low price!
For 15€, customers can have the reserved electric scooters delivered or picked up at any location they are staying at. This feature is fantastic for those who do not know their way around the city and do not wish to pay for different transportation on their way to pick up the scooter. Imagine arriving at your hotel, and your scooter is ready to use in the lobby waiting for you.
LYNX welcomes all customers with a smile. Whether it be over the phone or in person, the employees try their best to facilitate a pleasant and comfortable transaction with all persons. For example, staff are available during the hours of 10 am - 7 pm to answer all customers’ WhatsApp texts and calls at both LYNX locations and are guaranteed a response as soon as possible.
LYNX also offers significant reservations for groups to rent on the same day and for the same amount of time for larger groups. Just the other day, a group of four boys from Liverpool came in to visit for the week, and they were able to ride down the streets together, renting through LYNX.
The company takes outstanding care of its scooters. From the moment you pick them up, the scooters are at full battery. Not to mention, they carefully sanitize the entirety of the scooters. This safety detail is great to know during COVID too!
LYNX offers more than one type of bike. First, there is the Standard, and then there is the Long Range. The Standard has a velocity of 25 km/h and a range up to 30 km. The Long Range has a velocity of 25 km/h and a range of 45 km. Depending on which routes and how long you decided to ride for, this company has options for you.
Most scooter companies charge tourists more than they need to for the same services, yet LYNX presents unbeatable fair prices for better service. The Standard scooters run for 25€ for twenty-four hours and 20€/d for two to five days, and 18€/d for an additional five days. The Long Range scooters cost 30€ for twenty-four hours and 24€/d for two to five days, and 21€/d for additional five days. These deals, compared to others, can not be overlooked.
In Barcelona, it is ideal to have options. From different places to sightsee to places to eat, the city offers a diverse array of opportunities. LYNX wanted the same for its customers. With two locations in Barcelona city, Carrer del Comte D’urgell 16, Barcelona and Passeig de Sant Joan 63, Barcelona, this scooter company makes renting scooters more accessible to the public and provides the storage for more scooters. This luxury also allows riders to pick up at one location and return them at the other if they choose.
If you are traveling to Spain and find yourself and your friends or family in need of scooters, I would highly recommend going online or calling either office and renting their affordable and impressive scooters. You will not be disappointed.

]]>Something to consider when traveling or engaging with tourism as it resumes is how you will move around the city. Urban mobility is changing and innovating.
Barcelona: The Better Way to Travel
With the announcement of the EU lifting travel restrictions for the U.S. to travel this summer with qualifying vaccines, there has never been a better time to plan a trip to Spain.
You should definitely rent an electric scooter during your travel. They are a fun, easy, and inexpensive way to travel around the city. Companies like LYNX offer convenient travel options with electric scooters.
How does it work?
Imagine you have just arrived in Barcelona and arrived at your accommodations. If you want to explore the city there is no better option than travel by electric scooter, especially in the summer. You can order a scooter online and have express delivery in under 2 hours to your selected location. It is only 15 euros! Scooters move up to 15 MPH. The company will pick up the scooter when you are done using it or you can visit their locations in the city instead of getting the scooters delivered. Rentals come with a helmet included. What could be more convenient than that? There are also personal guided tours around the city. They are 2 hours and can be in English or Spanish. If you prefer to explore without a guide in person- GPS self guided tours are also available.
Navigating the narrow streets of Barcelona is more enjoyable and more accessible on a scooter. You can explore famous sites such as the Plaça de Catalunya.
Reasons to Use Electric Scooter
Electric scooters are environmentally friendly. Many Americans are concerned about the environment and about the impact of their travel. E-scooters offer an option with minimal carbon footprint. It also allows you the mobility of moving through the streets with ease and avoiding traffic.
Expensive rental cars, ubers, or taxis? These costs can add up quickly and also require you to be in the confines of a vehicle. During the warm summer months, e-scooters offer a means of transport that is in the fresh air and without the trouble of dealing with car troubles. There are also repair shops around the city if anything should happen to the scooter.
Finally a major consideration for choosing an electric scooter on your vacation is that it is fun. If you are traveling alone or with your family or friends it is not only a means of transportation but also a form of entertainment. You can drive down the streets in style. They are safe too!
Cost is another reason to choose an electric scooter. LYNX offers the best pricing options in Barcelona from a variety of models.
The standard (30km) model pricing is:
24 h: 25€
2-5 day: 20€/d
+5 days: 18€/d

The Long Range (45km) model pricing:
24 h: 30€
2-5 day: 24€/d
+5 days: 21€/d

On 9th of May the Spanish goverment is lifting the state of alarm. Therefore will be much easier to travel to Spain from any country. Depending on the country you want to travel from you will be required to do a PCR test.
There are several restrictions in Spain for travel right now as the pandemic continues. For example, according to the U.S. Embassy, U.S. citizens cannot enter Spain unless they are eligible for a specific requirement. Travelers need to show a negative PCR test within 72 hours prior to the arrival and a Health Control Form. It is also suggested that people traveling heed the warnings and regulations of the local authorities. Some common restrictions in Spain include:
A U.S. citizen can obtain a COVID-19 test in Spain for free if it is prescribed by a public health year or pay an average of 120 euros. The government of Spain is facilitating vaccines through the public healthcare system in multiple phases.
Citizens from the following countries will be allowed entry into Spain:
However, some other EU countries are allowed access to Spain if you provide a negative PCR test and the health control form.
There are not any mandatory quarantine requirements to date.
Public transportation is currently functioning in Spain but there is a requirement to wear a mask.
People from the UK are not allowed into Spain as of Dec. 22, 2020. Since Brexit, there are many new regulations for travel from the UK. However it is such a major part of the tourism industry in Spain accounting for over 18 million travelers. Brexit has not changed much about the vacationers or short term travelers. However, since Brexit, citizens of the UK cannot receive automatic residency in Spain. Visas will have to be obtained for stays longer than 3 months. Work Visas will be issued at the Spanish consulate and are a requirement from UK citizens to work in Spain. There are also implications for those trying to conduct business in Spain as freelance workers and switching branches within a company need a Visa.
Restrictions on arrivals from the UK were lifted at the end of March. British officials however forbid vacation travel until the mid May.
The following are examples of the reasons in which you would be permitted to travel abroad:
If you arrive in England without proof you tested negative, you could be fined up to £500. Other fees are incurred if you do not follow the proper protocol.
For Germans travelling to Spain, the border restrictions have recently lifted. Germans are allowed into Spain but must follow the protocols such as filling out the Health Control Form and taking a PCR test with negative results prior to travel.
France
The borders between France and Spain are now open but you must fill out the Health Control Form and show evidence of a negative PCR test.
If you are from a country that can freely travel to Spain or if you are able to travel for a short period of time there are many things you can do. If you are restricted for a while, here are some things that you can look forward to in your next trip!
Barcelona is among those cities that are taking practical initiatives to promote environment-friendly services. As one of the most attractive tourist destinations, the city welcomed close to 10 million tourists in 2019 and is striving to offer a balanced tourism mode where tourists can enjoy their time and protect their surroundings simultaneously. In doing so, Barcelona is maintaining its position of being contemporary in tourism while also protecting the environment from further depletion. To reduce traditional vehicle emissions, an innovative plan focuses on a specific mobility arrangement that is user-friendly, cost-effective, and pollution mitigator.
One such sustainable approach is allowing tourists and daily commuters to rent electric scooters. Instead of investing a considerable sum in purchasing new vehicles, individuals can rent a two-wheeler for their daily activities. It has multiple advantages. Firstly, Barcelona electric scooter rental is affordable for the common mass, as reports suggest that Barcelona electric scooter rentals are comparatively cheap in comparison to motor-based two wheelers. Since traditional two-wheelers use non-renewable sources like petrol and diesel, they emit harmful exhaust on combustion. In contrast, electric scooters in Barcelona reduce the pressure on fuels and provide individuals a better alternative.
Tourists, too, can avail of the electric scooters on rent and move around the city independently. Instead of hiring motor vehicles, a vast number of them are finding renting e-scooters a user-friendly method. One can easily visit the stores or contact the different firms offering electric scooters for rent in Barcelona to find out the terms and conditions. If you are passionate about traveling, renting an e-scooter in Barcelona is a change in perspective that will help support the cause of a pollution-free environment. One can connect to the local people, countryside, and the age-old culture while having the opportunity to roam about at your convenience. Renting electric scooters in Barcelona is ideal for those who prefer a sense of freedom while exploring the city.
LYNX is gaining popularity due to its efficient customer service and receives satisfactory reviews from both tourists and inhabitants regularly. If you are in the city, you can rent electric scooters through our online portal (link). We also have a chat service to answer the queries that may pop into your mind. Those wanting to receive the selected vehicle at doorstep can use the facility at a minimal cost of around 15€. At LYNX, we have three different options to choose from: you can rent standard, long-range, and junior electric scooters. The charges for one day range from 25€-30€ depending on the type of e-scooter, but generally cheaper from other similar service providers.
Along with the rented electric scooter, we also provide individual charger and helmet for convenient charging and protection while on the move. Those who want a tour of the city can either opt for guides or depend on GPS for self-reliability. Thus, Lynx provides a fantastic opportunity to explore the city at your convenience. Next time you plan a trip, make sure to choose a sustainable transport mode by renting e-scooters in Barcelona at LYNX. Do your part to save the environment – it will serve the present generation and make the world a healthy place to reside for the next.

Changing an electric scooter wheel is not easy, so first you should try to prevent a possible puncture by using it correctly. This way you should avoid:
Now, even when circulating properly, it is very important to have a good pressure on the electric scooter tires to prevent punctures. Having the wheel too inflated or deflated causes punctures, in addition to having an inefficient performance in terms of energy, battery and speed.
Many people periodically check and adjust the pressure of car tires, motorcycles or other types of vehicles, but they do not do the same with electric scooters. So, let's see what the correct wheel pressure is based on the person's weight on the Xiaomi electric scooters:
And to eliminate future punctures completely, the ideal is to use a solid wheel since these cannot be punctured and do not require maintenance. At Lynx (https://www.lynxsharing.com/) you can buy solid wheels and change them.
]]>Then, let’s consider other options:
Taxi
As you can see on the image below, 50 km is the minimum you should do by taxi in order to visit Barcelona (considering just few important places using the most efficient order).
The cheapest price per km (between 8 AM and 8 PM) is 1,17€ from Monday to Friday and 1,40€ on weekends. So even considering the cheapest option, you would spend over 58€.
Tube or bus
The price of one single journey by train or bus is 2,20€ as you can see on the following image.
So considering the same few places used in the first image, the price will be 22€. And we should consider time as another element which must be traduced in euros. Time is money and money is time. You know that if you want to enjoy free time, of course you need money and if you want money, you should spend time working. So, to compare all cases properly, you should consider the time wasted as a cost. And to do so, you can use the European hourly average salary (12€/hour).
So compared with renting an electric scooter in Barcelona, waiting for the train or bus (let’s consider 5 minutes on average) and the extra time spent on the bus/train doing intermediate stops without considering traffic jumps, you would spend around 2 hours. So the real cost would be 46€! 22€ (tickets)+24€ (time wasted).
Shared electric scooters/bikes/motos
In the streets, you can find motorbikes or electric bikes/scooters which you can rent for minutes starting from 1€. The cheapest cost would be around 0,2€ per minute, so it means that it would cost at least 12€ per hour. If you want to visit the city, for sure you will need it for more than 3 hours (even considering just the riding time), so the prices would be higher than 36€ per day. If you consider visiting Barcelona with family or friends, then you would not find enough shared scooters, at least at the same place.
Furthermore, with this kind of service you don’t have extras such as chargers, helmets, phone holders, locks and alarms, etc. For example, at Lynx https://www.lynxsharing.com/ you will have free helmets and chargers (so you can charge them during the day or night) using quality electric scooters and with customer service, all the day, paying just 25€.
Conclusion
The cheapest way (and only funny option) to visit Barcelona is renting an electric scooter considering you don’t want to walk (for sure you will walk more than 3 hours, so the real cost would be more than 36€ if you don’t enjoy it).
]]>
In this article, you will find all you need to know to make use of electric scooters in Barcelona.
]]>Since 2018, the rise of the electric scooter has transformed the way tourists visit cities for two main reasons:
However, you need to be aware of the traffic rules and basic regulations in order to be respectful of pedestrians and other vehicles.
Once you know these basic rules you are ready to start enjoying Barcelona. Here it goes some tips that will help you to do so.
Now you might be wondering where can you park the scooter during the night. ]]>Barcelona has amazing weather:
It rains a few days per year. In Barcelona, it rains around just 4 days per month (2 days during summer) compared to 16 days in London or 13 days in Paris for example.
Actually, it’s funny to know that at the end of the year it rains the same quantity in Barcelona (612 mm annually on average) than in London (621 mm) or Paris (637 mm). So it means that in Barcelona, when it rains it does it heavily during a 20min storm for example, instead of being raining a little bit all day.
The temperature is also great. During the summer the average temperature is 22ºC and during the winter 12ºC, so during the winter it’s warmer than almost all other cities and during the summer the temperature is not very hot because of the sea. So this is another reason why Barcelona is a perfect place to ride electric scooters.
And furthermore, the sunshine is excellent. As you can see in the image below, Barcelona has more than 2.500 hours of sun per year.
Barcelona is located between mountains and the sea
Not all the cities have sea, so here you can enjoy the beach and ride the scooters along the seaside from one side to the other. There are plenty of outdoor activities you can do such as volley, surf, windsurf, etc.
And on the other side of the city, there is a mountain (more than 500m high) where you can enjoy fresh air, views, and nature. People usually go there to disconnect and do some sport. Furthermore, on the mountain, there is a Theme Park called Tibidabo.
Barcelona has cycle lanes almost everywhere
As you can see in the image below, Barcelona has an impressively, more than 300 km, cycle lane, and there are also a lot of roads where cars must drive under 30 km/h and you can ride a bike or an electric scooter. So if you rent an electric scooter in Barcelona you will be able to visit the entire city without problems.
Barcelona offers cheap prices
Prices in Barcelona are cheaper than most other European cities. For example, in countries like Norway, you must pay more than 9€ for a beer in a bar and around 25€ for just a burger, while in Barcelona with just 2€ you have a good beer and with just few euros, the burger.
So the same occurs if you want to rent an electric scooter. In Barcelona, it’s cheaper to rent electric scooters, and Lynx is actually the cheapest choice. You can rent an electric scooter for 24 hours for just 25 euros. You can rent it at https://www.lynxsharing.com/.
Barcelona is a multicultural city
Barcelona is a very open city with people from all countries. So by renting an electric scooter and riding it, you will feel like at home!
]]>Replacing a tire on your Xiaomi m365 or Xiaomi Pro is a difficult task, we are not going to lie. You will need tools, technique, and more importantly a significant amount of strength.
In the market, you will find regular tires (with air) and solid ones. Since the process of changing a tire is long and complicated, we recommend changing the tires to solid ones. This may produce some additional vibrations in the scooter, but it is not a big deal (you can also minimize them using some vibration damper, easy to find online), on the plus side, you will be able to forget about the tires for a very, very long time.
Here are some tips that may help you get a hand on it:
How to do it:
That’s all! If it’s your first time, do not let the process drive you nuts, it may take over an hour, and it may be exhausting.
If you are in Barcelona and would like to purchase a tire and/or prefer that a professional replaces your tire, you can come to our shop and we will be happy to serve you!

For the first couple of weeks when Lynx was searching for a storefront, we faced multiple adversities. For example, the first store we looked at was conveniently located near the Arc de Triomf, a tourist hot-spot. However, the store required a special license. My bosses tried to acquire it, but it fell through and the search for another storefront continued. We looked at two other locations and eventually, a store was rented near the end of July and is currently thriving. Without perseverance, none of this would have happened and today, nearly 50% of our customers are walk-ins.
Once a store was bought, the renovations began, and I quickly learned that a start-up is basically a newborn. At only a week old, my bosses and I spent hours taking care of her. We cleaned, plastered walls, installed electrical piping and painted. While doing renovations we were still doing deliveries, taking orders and trying to keep the scooters organized. Until the electricity was installed, the scooters were being charged at one of my bosses house. The good news is that babies grow and that’s what LynxSharing did. Helping transform LynxSharing from a mere empty building into a full-functioning establishment has been one of my favorite memories of my internship.
The time has come; the end of my internship is here. These last two months have flown by and it has been a great experience. So great that I want to buy an electric scooter! Interning abroad is no joke and there were times when I thought this wasn’t for me and I’d rather be at home instead. However, I’m glad I pushed through the hard days because I’ve had such an incredible time. Lastly, I would like to thank my bosses Bernat, Alberto and Eduard for treating me like a friend, mentoring me, getting me ice cream and being remarkable supervisors!

]]>I recently visited Barcelona with my wife and 2 other friends and we had an amazing visit! When the staff asked us to write a blog post about our experience so other tourists could learn about this new way of discovering the city I didn't hesitate!
We were doing a road trip around Spain, and Cataluña was a must stop. However, because we also wanted to see the Costa Brava and all its beaches and enchanted small towns, that only left us with one day to visit Barcelona... Luckily, thanks to the referral of a friend, we found a way to explore Barcelona in a fast and fun way with electric scooters!
In this post I will explain all the details you need to know if you only have one day in Barcelona, to get the most out of it, see as much as you can and have a ton of fun while doing it.
After this friend recommended me Lynx Sharing, I went to their website to explore it a little bit. As usual, I had many questions and through the chat button they were super helpful in answering all of them. I decided that I prefered to have the scooters delivered to our hotel, so we could start right on after breakfast. They arrived to the hotel reception, explained how the electric scooters work, and gave us the accesories that we ordered (lock and mobile holder).
Below is the itinerary we designed, so we could check the most iconic attractions. The Lynx Sharing guys were kind enough to give us some recommendations on which streets or spots were better to go with an electric scooter.
From our hotel to Sagrada Familia was a really smooth drive along the beautiful Diagonal. There are very wide bicycle lanes there, so it was perfect to get used to riding the electric scooters. The first meters were a bit intense, but after less than a minute I was having fun like a kid!
We got to the Sagrada Familia and it is a cathedral like you have never seen before. Altough it was comissioned in 1883 to Antoni Gaudí, it is still under construction, who know for how long! You can clearly see his personal style embedded into all the walls, towers, doors and scenery that he created.
We parked the electric scooters with the locks nearby and went for our guided visit. This is very important: schedule and get the tickets in advance!! Although you don't absolutely need to go inside, I recommend that you do to fully appreciate the beauty and spirituality of one of the Europe's best cathedrals.
LA VILA OLÍMPICA DEL POBLENOU
After Sagrada Familia we headed down to the beach, following a straight route to La Vila Olímpica. It's very nice because in the way you can stop by La Monumental (a 1914 art nouveau bullring, now used for concerts & shows, with a bullfighting history museum inside), by the Palau del Parlament de Catalunya (Stately, 1700s seat of the Catalan Parliament, open on weekends, in the Parc de la Ciutadella), etc.
Once we arrived there we just explored around with the electric scooters. It was super fun and exiciting to ride them, playing with each other and racing with the beach and sea on our side. The weather was wonderful, so we rested a little bit to catch some ocean breeze before we headed to lunch.
There are many trendy restaurants at the end of the beach under the W Hotel. We stopped and ate really tasteful paella and patatas bravas at El Gallito, and I definitely recommend the Sangría to refresh a bit and rest from the heat. They were very nice and allowed us to lock the scooters there, so we had no problems in that sense.
CATHEDRAL OF BARCELONA & GOTHIC QUARTER
Once we had recovered some energy we started heading to the Gothic Quarter and the Cathedral of Barcelona. One of the things I liked about Barcelona is how diverse its architecture and vibes are. Coming from a contemporary neighborhood, to a modernist one and then immersing yourself into the Gothic times brings a kind of magic to the city.
Here sometimes we had to be a bit more careful with pedestrians, but overall it was fun and easy to discover hidden streets, roman walls and intriguing corners with the electric scooters.
We got to the Cathedral but didn't get in. Someone at the entrance required a dress code that we unfortunately didn't meet, so just be aware of that when you go (you need to have your shoulders and above the knees covered). However, we were lucky and we saw some acrobatic show in the plaza in front.
Thanks to the electric scooters we were able to discover other churches, Santa Caterina Market, La Boquería Market, Ramblas and many other places. It was a blast!
FONT MÀGICA DE MONTJUÏC
After the Gothic Quarter thanks God we had the electric scooters. We climbed the hills with ease. We started from behind, seeing first the castle and some other viewpoints that we found along the way. Unexpectedely we came accross the Joan Miró Foundation (showcase of Joan Miro's modern, colorful artworks in hilltop museum with courtyards and terraces), which was a lovely discovery, even if you are not that into art. The architecture and terraces are just amazing!
We continued with our electric scooters to the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, a place that had been on my wish list for a long time! We stopped by the cafeteria at the top and I orderer a horchata, sat down on the stairs and we enjoyed a beautiful panoramic view of Barcelona. Here I recommend to take your time, enjoy without a hurry and unwind.
As it was on our way, we stopped by Passeig de Gracia, a very transited street with many things to view. More concretely we looked at the Casa Batlló (fantastical, curving dragon-roofed apartment block, now a museum, created by architect Antoni Gaudi) and Casa Milá (Gaudi's Catalan art nouveau period building with quarrylike facade, hosting exhibitions & concerts).
Before returning the electric scooters at Lynx Sharing store, we took a last stop at Arc del Triumph, which was very close by. Sadly, we felt how our day was ending, but we were very grateful that we could have visited so many places in just a day!
The return was very fast and friendly. After that, we headed for dinner, where we had the chance to rest and look at all of the awesome pictures we have taken of such an amazing city that Barcelona is!!
]]>One of my favorite things to do on an e-scooter is to explore. During one of my rides through the city, I stumbled into the El Born neighborhood. Bordered by the Arc de Triomf and la Via Laietana, you’ll not only discover a quiet neighborhood, but also a melting pot of food, culture, and history.
Once called La Ribera, El Born’s history dates back to medieval times and is now considered to be part of Barcelona’s Old City. In the early 18th century, the quarter was defeated in war and was partly demolished as a result. It got its name from the old market, Mercat del Born which is considered one of the most significant iron buildings in Barcelona. Now, it is known as the El Born Center of Culture and Memories or El Born CCM. The archaeological site displays ancient ruins of houses and roads from the Old City. Today El Born CCM hosts various events to preserve and promote Catalonian culture.
El Born is very e-scooter friendly as well. The narrow streets allow you to ride around freely. It is also a perfect place to scoot-n-shop. While riding I like to put the scooter on eco mode so I can window shop. I rarely stop to go inside a store; instead, I write down the names of the shops I liked and visit them later on foot. This method allows me to familiarize myself with the area so that when I return, I have no trouble locating my new discoveries.
In addition to its greatness, my favorite thing about El Born is that it is not very crowded. The minimal number of tourists make it easier to ride around and to truly admire the neighborhood and its authenticity. For instance, in the craft zone on L’Esquirol there are hanging textiles with designs and symbols on them. There is also beautiful street art that helps illuminate the ancient neighborhood.
I would say El Born is without a doubt my favorite neighborhood in Barcelona so far. I admire the tranquility as well as the abundance of local shops and food. Furthermore, the fact that it is close to the beach makes El Born a perfectly placed neighborhood in my eyes. I will surely be spending more time here.

]]>One could say my internship abroad in Barcelona has been fairly unconventional. Being an intern at Lynx Sharing, an e-scooter rental company, has been an amazing experience so far. At first, I was hesitant to work with a start-up company because I didn’t know what my work would entail. I’ve been an interior designer, flier distributor and a blogger. I would say a fairly unconventional internship so far! I’ve enjoyed every single moment.
Today’s agenda consisted of borrowing a company scooter and riding around town. My journey began in the busy streets of Las Ramblas which is basically an outdoor mall that goes on for a little less than a mile. Just south of it, the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. I made my way through the seaside markets and stopped occasionally to take a couple of pictures. One of my favorite things about Barcelona is its explorable coastline that leads you into smaller streets. In my experience so far, the small streets have the best food and I am yet to be let down! I also have discovered multiple fruit markets, boutiques and chain grocery stores tucked away in the narrow streets.
As I made my way towards the beach, I decided to start at the southeastern end which had plenty of tourists, cute restaurants and parks. Another thing I enjoy about Barcelona is the parks. I assume because a majority of Barcelona inhabitants here live in apartments, the parks allow locals to enjoy the fresh air and to play with their dogs. Once I reached the farthest end of the beach, I headed into town. I passed the Museum of Natural Sciences and a shopping mall that I never knew existed. This part of town was less touristy and reminded me of a typical downtown area with its tall buildings. I stopped for lunch at an Italian restaurant called Vapiano, a cafeteria-style restaurant where food is made in front of you. The food was delicious, and I will definitely be going back. To finish my adventure, I rode along the long diagonal street known as the Avinguda Diagonal until I reached my residence.
Using the e-scooter was a convenient way to explore Barcelona. Since I was able to get everywhere quickly, the extra time allowed me to sit on a nearby bench and appreciate the world around me.

]]>In Barcelona, there are 3 main rental companies of electric scooters for tourists (rent for hours or days). Here is a comparison of them:
LYNX is a store specialized in electric scooters rental. Unlike other services, LYNX operates online with the support of a store, so it manages to reduce its cost structure and offer you better scooters at a lower price.
LYNX operates throughout the metropolitan area of Barcelona, delivering the scooter to your door in less than 2 hours. It also collects the scooter once the rental is complete.
You can also pick-up the scooter at the store (Passeig de Sant Joan 63, Barcelona)
Rentelectric offers electric vehicle rentals in its store. The available vehicles include electric cars, electric bicycles, and electric scooters. It is only possible to use electric scooters in a very limited area of the city of Barcelona (on the beach of Barceloneta and in the Ciutadella park), which limits the possibility of touring with the scooter. It has three locations in Barcelona (two in Barceloneta and one in Arc de Triomf).
Winner: LYNX. It offers the cheapest rate and is particularly cheap for longer-term rents.

Making money with Airbnb is one of the biggest challenges for hosts.
People outside the industry often believe that is a simple process, and the numbers come out easily. Nothing is further from reality; Airbnb commissions, cleaning procedures, and products, pressure on prices, damages caused to the property, licenses, etc.
Fortunately, it is possible to improve the revenues of Airbnb, but you will need: work, creativity, and sacrifice.
If you're looking for ways to get more, look at these 4 ideas to increase your Airbnb earnings:
I) Make improvements in your apartment.
Even minor touches, such as a new coat of paint or better appliances or furniture, can make your place more attractive to guests.
II) Host more people on your Airbnb
Adding a sofa-bed in the dining room or in a secondary room can increase the capacity of your apartment, making it more attractive for customers.
III) Offer catering services to guests.
Many Airbnb already offer breakfast to their guests, but it is still not customary to include or manage catering services or culinary experiences at home
IV) Offer services and experiences to your guests.
Hosts can create experiences based on their passions or interests. For example, the recommendation and discounts in the best restaurants in the city or offer complementary mobility services. Sometimes, offering these experiences could be expensive and investment may be required. But, the experiences generated thanks to the hosts will produce better reviews and, of course, more income!
From Lynx Sharing, we offer the possibility of offering an urban mobility service to your guests without any investment!
With us, you can offer a service of electric scooters so that your customers can move around the city. In this way, you will get extra income that will help you to make profitable your property and distinguish it from other homes.
Do not make any investment and don't need to change anything from your usual way of operating. We take care of everything!
You can relax and be unconcerned! And, in addition, you will get a commission for each unit that is rented on your Airbnb!
