How to prevent a wheel puncture in your electric scooter (Xiaomi M365 and Xiaomi Pro)

Xiaomi m365

Changing an electric scooter wheel is not easy, so first you should try to prevent a possible puncture by using it correctly. This way you should avoid:

  • Go around dirt roads (most of the time the wheel is punctured when passing over slightly sharp stones)
  • Go up sidewalks crashing into the curb. Normally the height of a sidewalk is too high to be able to pass directly without stopping, but on many other occasions a height of a few centimeters is enough to want to pass without stopping. That is when the collision of the wheel with the curb can cause a puncture.
  • Jumping also causes punctures on the wheels, either up for fun or down the curbs without stopping.

Now, even when circulating properly, it is very important to have a good pressure on the electric scooter tires to prevent punctures. Having the wheel too inflated or deflated causes punctures, in addition to having an inefficient performance in terms of energy, battery and speed.

Many people periodically check and adjust the pressure of car tires, motorcycles or other types of vehicles, but they do not do the same with electric scooters. So, let's see what the correct wheel pressure is based on the person's weight on the Xiaomi electric scooters:

  • 50-70 kg: Front wheel between 2.5 and 2.8 bar and Rear wheel between 2.8 and 3.5 bar.
  • 70-90 kg: Front wheel between 2.8 and 3.1 bar and Rear wheel between 3.1 and 3.8 bar.
  • 90-100 kg: Front wheel between 3.1 and 3.5 bar and Rear wheel between 3.5 and 4.2 bar.
  • More than 100 kg: Front wheel between 3.5 and 3.9 bar and Rear wheel between 4.1 and 4.4 bar.

And to eliminate future punctures completely, the ideal is to use a solid wheel since these cannot be punctured and do not require maintenance. At Lynx ( you can buy solid wheels and change them.
